CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order, at 4:39 PM, by Chelsea Veldhuizen, President.
The following were in attendance:

BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Terri Hardcastle, Kayleigh Caamano and Kim Fornes,
VISITORS: LeAnn Durfey, City Council,
Mark Wallace

1. Approval of the Minutes:

2. Hotel Performance update:
a. A graph was presented comparing Stephenville, Granbury, Mineral Wells,
Glen Rose and Weatherford
3. Update on Data:
a. The use of cellphone data discussed, and overnight stays usually involve
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
being low days for overnight stays. The focus was on the 45-64 age group.
b. A discussion of how to improve tourism exposure with the thought of
contacting small tour groups to come by providing them with things to do in
the area.
4. Airport Insights: Provided by Sean Clemmons
a. We have about 45 fly in monthly. Their reason for coming usually is to eat at
The Seeker and Hard Eight or attend a TSU event.
5. Moo-La Fest Discussion:
a. This event was well attended. The 5K had 100 participants. No Moo-La Bucks
were used, due to complications in funding and disbersments. More daytime
activities are needed. Ms. Durfey added that she received more than 40+
positive phone calls. Only one complaint about mutton busting weight for
participant.
6. Make Music Day:
a. Noted that six businesses participated in the event, which will always be
held the third Saturday in June. We are a certified Music Friendly town. A
recommendation was made in the feight magazine.

7. Western Swing Festival will be held September 6 and 7 . A save the date graphic is
being worked on.
8. Rodeo Sponsorship was the final agenda update. Ms. Durfey, spoke on this. She
spoke to her role as a member of the city council and her work with the Western
Heritage Board. The winners with this year were J.J. Hampton, Jacob Crawley, Jackie
Crawford, and Wesley Thorp. HOT funds were used to give these a $10,000
scholarship for advertising they consider Stephenville their hometown. They are
required to live here. Next year, rodeo people will be able to apply to be sponsored
by Stephenville.
With no other items to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 5:28 PM.
