August 2025 Activity Report
Operations
August 1, 2025 –August 31, 2025
Operations members completed 516 hours of in-house and off-site
Fire/EMS Training.
Topics included: Commercial Fire Hose tactics, Confined Space Rescue,
Swift Water Rescue, Elevator Rescues, Wildland Firefighting, Pre-Incident
walk-throughs (SISD, TSU, Huston Academy, EECU), PEPP/ Pediatric
EMS Education, and EMS Protocol Review. Four members remain in the
Paramedic School through TSTC Brownwood. These 4 have begun their
“Capstone” Internship, which is the final piece to completing the Paramedic
program before testing.
We were blessed to have 67 applicants for our vacant Firefighter/EMT
positions. 35 Interviews were extended, 32 interviews were scheduled, and
29 interviews were completed. This was by far the largest and strongest
pool of applicants we have ever seen within SFD. 7 positions have been
filled. These 7 new members will begin their FTO process on 9/15 and
should bring our department back to full staffing by 10/1/2025.
Standby Events: TSU Graduation was staffed by 2 SFD members for
Fire/EMS standby.
PR or Pub Ed: Crews participated in the SHS Band water balloon fight.
TIFMAS Deployments: No Deployments this month.

• Opened Registration for “Par-Tee on the Green”- annual Golf Tournament
Fundraiser, in Partnership with the Stephenville Optimist Club. Tournament Date:
Friday, October 10th, 2025 at Legends Golf Course.
• Hosted 1 Small Town Select Baseball Tournament (used lions Field only)
• SPARD Attended the Tarleton Job Fair to recruit more PT sports employees
• Recreation Superintendent, Brad Mills, and 2 Fitness Instructors for the Legacy
Center, Shayla Murdock and Carley heller, attended the Dallas Mania Fitness
Convention in Dallas, TX.
