May 2025 Activity Report
Operations
May 1, 2025 –May 31, 2025
Operations members completed 1364 hours of in-house and off-site Fire/EMS
Training. Topics included: EMS Protocol Review, EMS Pediatric Care, Fire hose
loads and deployment, Midrise fire scenarios, Rescue training
(airbags/lifting), Fire master streams, PPE (Gear Drills). Three members
attended a 3-Day EMS Conference hosted by Emergicon and the City of Port
Aransas.
PR Events: Duty crews attended and/or assisted with Cincoville, The 6th
Annual Erath County Peace Officers’ Memorial, SPARD Mother-Son Mayhem,
Central Elementary, Chamberlain Elementary, and Gilbert Intermediate end-
of-year parties/field days.
Public Education: EMS Chief Jacobsen and Crews assisted with training the
many staff and lifeguards at Splashville.
Standby events: Two members were assigned to provide EMS standby at
three TSU Commencement ceremonies and the SHS Graduation ceremony.
TIFMAS Deployments: There have been no TIFMAS Deployments.

Parks Updates
• Finalized and completed OYC T-ball fleld light project.
• Finalized estimates for pool maintenance and repairs. Waiting on instruction for
next step in the process of opening.
• Completed Optimist Jaycee park entry. (Curbing, decorative rock, fiag poles, fiag
pole lights).
• Nearing the end of the tree project at the airport extension.(I’m Over seeing this
project).
• Working on getting quotes for the shade structure at Optimist Jaycee playground
• Gearing up for Moolah Fest. Most everything is ordered. ( Porta John’s, light towers,
generators, barricades, tents, bar tops, still waiting on getting flnal list for vendors)
• Getting ready to start fllling pot holes through the park asphalt for summer events
• Finalizing Phase III all inclusive playground. Have the revised quote. Hoping to get
the budget adjustment in on the next council meeting.
• Started shredding the airport, 1 week process
• Started to clean up the mess MH civil left behind in the city park after sewer
project.
• Sewer project on the north side of the park is nearing completion, will start
cleaning that up as soon as they flnish across Belknap.
• Started the clean up process along the trail behind MH civil.
• Started the annual trail light maintenance. (Changing the bulbs and converting to
LED. Checking for any damages. Ensuring all lights are working properly.
• Started the pedastool plug project on the south side of the berm for events.
• Completed the mapping and marking at MT Olive. Waiting on the shipping and
completion of the Monument stones for unmarked graves.
• Completed light replacement and conversion of the park restroom light project.
