December 2024 Activity Report
Operations
January 1, 2025 –January 31, 2025, Monthly Operations Report
Operations members completed 757 hours of in-house and off-site Fire/EMS
Training.
Topics included: Forcible Entry, Fire Scenarios, RIT Training, Rescue
(Cribbing and Stabilization), EMS Scenarios & Protocol Review.
Department Vacancies:
-11 Interviews were conducted and the hiring process continued for 4
firefighter candidates. 4 candidates have received job offers and should
begin the FTO process towards the end of February.
-Promotional exam for 1 vacant shift Lieutenant position will be held on
March 26th & 27th. SFD has 4 internal applicants in this process.
Standby Events: No Standby Events Occurred
TIFMAS Deployments:
-3 members were deployed to the Brownwood Texas Forest Service
Office to stage for Initial Attack operations associated with Winter Fire
Weather 1/17 –1/19.
-2 members were deployed to the McGregor, TX area to stage in
preparation for Winter Storm weather 1/19 –1/20.
Training Field: Our construction project continues at the training field
container prop. This month the interior staircase has been assembled and
now allows FD crews to conduct multiple different firefighting scenarios
based on 1 story, 2 story, or 3 story structure fires. This prop is the
foundation of training for our department. It offers many opportunities to train
and grow our members along with building a stronger relationship with our
partnering agencies in the county and surrounding areas.
Joint Aid: The frontline Ambulance/Medic unit has been moved to Station 1,
allowing the space for Erath County EMS to move into SFD Station 2. This
joint venture provides a much faster response for ECEMS to the Western
portion and places all frontline ambulances in stronger geographic locations.
Fire investigation from New Years Eve was conducted with the assistance of Detective Fincher, with SPD, resulting in
charges being filed on 2 minors for Arson.
Continued work on SOP's for the FMO.

Recreation Updates
• Youth Basketball is complete
• Adult Basketball Registration is complete (13 Total teams, 8 Men’s Open, 5 Men’s
D2). Games begin Monday, February 10th.
• Registration is open through March 3 for spring youth baseball/softball. League
