March 2025 Activity Report
Operations
March 1, 2025 –March 31, 2025, Monthly Operations Report
Operations members completed 976 hours of in-house and off-site Fire/EMS Training. Topics included:
Search & Rescue, RT-130 Wildland Refresher, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Technical Rescue, and EMS
Protocol Reviews. 2 members attended the TEEX Spring Municipal Fire School and learned advanced
firefighting techniques. 5 members remain in Paramedic School through TSTC Brownwood, and 1
member is in the EMT-Advanced program through Training Division.
The promotional exam and process were held on March 26th and 27th. This process was facilitated by
URE Consulting Group. URE created a written test based on study materials and criteria set forth by the
SFD administration. URE facilitated assessment centers using outside assessors from other City Offices
and various Chief-level officers from various fire departments in Parker County and the DFW metroplex.
This process is rigorous and ensures that we promote the most qualified and prepared individuals into
our formal leadership roles. Firefighter Brandon Sellers was number one on the process list and has
been promoted to Lieutenant on A Shift. The remaining candidates are ranked and held on a
promotional list for the next 12 months.
4 new Firefighter/EMT candidates started with SFD on 3/3/25. These new hires participated in 5 days of
rigorous hands-on and classroom learning provided by our FTO/Mentor committee. These new
members started shift work on 3/8 and will continue training and learning with their FTO on each shift.
Standby Events: Crews attended and provided standby at the TX Independence Day Celebration at Clark
Field.
TIFMAS Deployments:
5 members and the TIFMAS engine were deployed to assist with Wildfires in South Texas from 3/3/25 to
3/31/25. Crews aided local and other state resources on Wildland fires from areas near Alice, TX, to
Leakey, TX. As rain began to fall in late March, the mission shifted to aiding state and local resources
with high water rescues in the McAllen and Harlingen areas of Texas. March 1, 2025 –March 31, 2025,
